Iced Matcha Latte: The Perfect Recipe

The real recipe for an iced matcha latte, simple and classic: milk, ice, ceremonial-grade matcha. The perfect ratio and our tips for a smooth, foamy result.

Ingrédients

100 ml milk (dairy or plant-based)
3.5 g of matcha
35 ml water at 70°C (158°F)
A few ice cubes

In your spouted mixing bowl, pour in the matcha and the 15 ml of water. Mix with the chasen until you get a smooth, lump-free paste.
Add the 20 ml of water at 70°C (158°F) to this paste.
Whisk with your chasen, using quick "W" or zigzag motions, until you get a smooth, lightly foamy liquid.
Fill your glass with ice cubes, right to the top.
Pour the milk over the ice.
Gently pour the matcha over the iced milk, in a thin stream and without stirring: this is what creates the well-known marbled effect.
Stir lightly before drinking, or enjoy it as is for the visual effect.
