Called kusenaoshi in Japanese, the chasen stand is the traditional holder for the matcha whisk. After each preparation, place your chasen upside down on it: it air-dries while retaining its bell shape, for a finer foam for longer.

Made of ceramic, compact and elegant, it measures 4.5 cm in height and 7 cm in diameter, a size designed for our 10.5 cm matcha whisk.

Usage

After each preparation: rinse your chasen with warm water, without soap, then shake it gently to remove excess water.

To dry it: place it upside down on the chasen stand, making sure that the tines surround the stand evenly. Let it air dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.

For storage: wait until the whisk is completely dry before storing it in a box, to prevent mold.

The chasen holder to preserve the shape of the whisk

Stored flat or in a drawer, a chasen that is still damp will eventually lose its shape: its tines will tighten, become misshapen, and may break.

Placed on its stand, the whisk retains its bell shape and air-dries, without water pooling between its tines. The chasen holder thus helps extend the life of your whisk.

Elegant and discreet, it naturally finds its place on the countertop, next to your other matcha accessories.

How to use the chasen holder?

    After each preparation

Rinse your chasen with warm water, without soap, then gently shake it to remove excess water. Place it upside down on the chasen holder, making sure that the tines surround the stand evenly.

    For drying

Leave the whisk to air-dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Do not store it in a box until it is completely dry.

The chasen holder perfectly complements the accessories in our matcha kit.

How to care for your chasen holder?

The ceramic chasen holder should be hand-washed with warm water and a mild detergent.Noka Matcha - Product Sheets

Avoid thermal shock, such as going directly from hot to cold water, and let it dry thoroughly before placing your whisk on it again.
